I am extremely disheartened by the traders in Epping High Street who complained of loss of earnings following the closure of the High Street after the stabbing on September 6 (Epping Forest Guardian, September 18.) A young man was stabbed and is lying critically ill in hospital, and all they can think about is their loss of earnings for just one day. How selfish can people be?
That said, we need police presence on our streets - we don't even see PCSOs any more in Epping High Street. Something has to change, and quickly.
