Kind Regards Paula David The Write Network Black, Male and British A project that examines the journey of the Black British male from the 1950s to the present day, has won Heritage Lottery Support!!

The project will involve the collection of oral histories from British Caribbean men based in Waltham Forest working on London Transport from the 1950s to 1970s. The project will culminate with an exhibition of the oral histories and will be followed by a debate with 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation black males coming together to discuss the Black, Male, British journey to present day and beyond.

Working together with Eastside Community Heritage ten young Black British males will be trained to gather the oral histories during March and early April. The exhibition and play will take place during November 2015.

The production of the play has received Arts Council England support!!

Notes to Editor The Write Network CIC was launched in January 2013, by it’s founder Paula David, with support of the charity Unlimited. The Write Network exists to encourage those who may be less visible in the world of literature, in particular ethnic minority groups and new but mature writers. The Write Network works for the unheard voices and makes the invisible visible.
