Chief Inspector Jon Simpson at Waltham Forest police speaks to the Guardian on counter-terrorism efforts in the borough.
He has responsibility for overseeing partnership work across the whole of the borough and manages the emergency and patrol response teams who respond to 999 and 101 calls.
Today, he is speaking out about the borough's policing efforts to engage and educate pupils of secondary school age about the risks of terrorism and travelling to war-torn Syria.
