A £3 million business innovation hub is to be built at Beal High School in Ilford.
The hub will provide a business-driven curriculum for 100 full and part-time students, aged 14-19 at the school, in Woodford Bridge Road.
The hub will be built by construction company Morgan Sindall to imitate office space.
The three-storey building will include 16 teaching spaces that will help prepare pupils for a working environment, and will also include fully-equipped ICT facilities.
The building will also include spaces for students and staff to relax in.
It will also include a fully-operational training catering kitchen which will enable students to access careers in the catering and hospitality industry. This will also double up as a working internet café for students and staff.
Tessa Canaii, Principal at Beal Business Innovation Hub (BBIH), said: “Our vision for BBIH is one that provides aspirational work-related and occupational pathways tailored to suit individual student needs.
"The building concept and design totally reinforces this vision and will enable it to become a reality.”
Bob Ensch, area director at Morgan Sindall said: “Beal Business Innovation Hub is an exciting project that provides a different educational environment for students.
"This centre for future entrepreneurs, with its alternate provisions, will house excellent facilities for students."
