Aspers Casino, Westfield Stratford City, is set to welcome its five millionth visitor later this month (April).

On average the capital’s only super casino, which opened back in December 2011, plays host to an astonishing 4,500+ customers every day.

Bosses believe much of its popularity is due to its successful mix of bars, restaurants and live entertainment, combined with a state-of-the-art gaming floor and the largest poker room in London.

Chief Operating Officer Richard Noble said: “The Stratford business has been a success since day one. We opened to record crowds and we now regularly welcome over 140,000 guests every month.

“One of the key aspects of the business is its accessibility to everyone; from novices and non-gamers to highly experienced gamblers.

“We also welcome a high percentage of women. This is unusual for casinos and I think reflects the far broader entertainment mix we offer; with live music every weekend, lively bars and a great quality food offering in our restaurant,” he added.

Aspers has also become a major employer in the area. In the last three years more than 650 local people have been employed as part of the Workplace and Newham Council partnership.

The casino has also had a positive effect on the local economy and provides an annual fund of £100,000 to help support local good causes, as well as over £1M annual financial contribution to Newham Council.

Despite its success Noble and his team are constantly looking at new ways to improve their offering.

“We never stand still. We’ve increased the size of the entertainment floor twice already, doubled the size of the poker facilities, added a new bar and also introduced VIP gaming facilities,” he said.

“We also work really hard to create promotions and events that appeal to the local market. We’ve given away cars, ran the UK’s first ‘Spin for a Million’ nationwide prize draw and we’re currently re-introducing our £50,000 “Super Draw” – where any customer with a loyalty card gets the chance to win a guaranteed £5,000 every week for the next 10 weeks,” he added.

Aspers Stratford is the company’s flagship UK Casino. As well as three bars, one with a terrace overlooking the Olympic Park, and a restaurant, the casino features 50 live gaming tables, the largest Poker Room in London with over 400 seats, 150 slot machines, 150 electronic live terminals and live sports betting terminals.
