A new laundry service that electronically identifies and tracks hotel linens has opened up in a warehouse in Leyton.
Bates of London celebrated the opening of its dedicated laundry service in Argall Avenue, Leyton which will serve Premier Inn hotels across London, earlier this month.
David Pantlin, Bates chairman was joined for the occasion by guests including the Leader of Waltham Forest council, Chris Robbins, and Cllr Clare Coghill, cabinet member for economic growth.
The project has introduced RFID technology to identify and track thousands of bed linens as they are cleaned and guests were given a demonstration of how this would work.
The innovative technology automatically identifies, counts and records the linens without manually separating or sorting and can help reduce the number of stolen items from clients.
