A field study group are set to host a family 'Astronight' next week.

Staff at the Epping Forest Field Centre in Paul's Nursery Road, High Beach, are set to give children aged eight and above and their parents the chance to view comets and planets through a 15cm Newtonian reflecting telescope on May 27.

An illustrated presentation with audience participation, practical activities and question time will also be given.

A spokesman for the group said: "Given clear skies, there will be the chance for everyone to observe some notable objects.

"The illustrated presentation will be on the subject of getting into orbit and how space probes are sent into orbit and beyond."
