Retiring mayor Barbara Scruton with deputy mayor Michael Wright
A new mayor and deputy mayor will be elected at a meeting this evening (May 19).
Epping Town Council will elect the new dignitaries at its annual meeting, the first since elections held earlier this month.
Councillors Barbara Scruton and Michael Wright, the current mayor and deputy mayor, will fulfil their last duties by reporting on their recent work before retiring.
New members will also be elected to the council’s committees at the meeting, which is open to the public.
The annual meeting will be held from 7.30pm at Epping Hall, in St Johns Road.
