An all-girls school has won a hat trick of awards for the performance of its "wonderful" pupils over the past year.
Last week, at the annual award ceremony of the Specialist Schools Advisory Trust, Walthamstow School for Girls in Church Hill received three awards.
The ceremony, held at Holland Park School, rewarded the school for being placed in the top 10 per cent of non-selective schools nationally for high attainment, based on students’ best 8 average point scores for GCSE.
The second was for placing in the top ten per cent nationally in value added progress.
The final award was for success in achieving high levels of performance for students eligible for the pupil premium.
Accepting the award Headteacher Meryl Davies said: “It was an honour to receive these awards and we are immensely proud of everyone involved.
"The school, compared to all schools nationwide, has done extremely well to achieve this success.
"This is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the inspirational staff and our wonderful students.”
