An award-winning opera group is set to perform at a school next week.
Chapel End Savoy Players will perform Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers at Forest School, in College Place, Snaresbrook, from May 28 to 31.
The group, which has been performing since 1974, won three National Operatic and Dramatic Association annual awards for their performance of Iolanthe in 2010.
CESP last performed The Gondoliers in 2002 but this year’s version is due to be set in the 1950s.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows start at 7:30pm, while Saturday and Sunday Matinees start at 2:30pm.
Free transport will be available to the school from Snaresbrook Tube station from 1.30pm for both matinee performances, with a free return to Snaresbrook after the show.
Tickets are £10 to £14, and £5 for under 18s.
