A new chairman has been elected for Ongar Town Council.
New Shelley town councillor James Browning was selected to take over the chain of office from councillor Diana Roberts at an annual council meeting yesterday evening (May 21).
John Reynolds will serve the town as the new vice-chairman.
Mr Browning, who will fill the new position from today, said he was "looking forward to the challenge".
