Pupils at a primary school have raised £2,000 for charity with a 'Race for Life' fun run.

Chigwell Row Infant School in Lambourne Road, Chigwell, hosted the event, which saw 90 children aged four to eight running around a school field, yesterday(May 21).

All proceeds are set to be donated to Cancer Research UK.

Local resident Faye Davies donated 80 balloons and an array of sweet treats for the event.

Year 2 teacher Gill Bailey said: "We had a great time and it was really nice to see lots of parents and family supporters there.

"The whole of Chigwell Row Infant School took part in the run to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

"All children were awarded with an ice lolly and a medal.

"It was great fun."
