Councillors are looking for volunteers to help clean the area.
Residents are being encouraged to help out at a town's first litter pick this weekend.
Ongar Town Council will host its first litter picking event of the year on Saturday (June 6).
Litter pickers, gloves and high visability jackets will be available but volunteers are asked to wear suitable clothing and footwear.
Helpers should meet at the Jubilee Pavilion in Love Lane, Ongar, at 9.30am for a 10am start.
The litter pick will concentrate on the southern end of the town with a further event planned for November 14, set to focus on the northern end of Ongar.
Free parking will be available.
