An upcoming coffee morning will give clubs and organisations the chance to meet with a new council chairman.

Councillor Jim Browning, recently elected chairman of Ongar Town Council, will host his first informal coffee morning at the Jubilee Pavilion in Love Lane next Wednesday (June 10).

It is hoped that the meeting will provide an opportunity for representatives of local clubs and organisations, and members of the public, to discuss new ideas and projects for Ongar.

Jubilee Pavilion manager Angus McKenzie will be available to show people around the newly-refurbished building and answer questions.

There will be a raffle with profits going into council funds to provide grants to local organisations.

The event, which is open to everyone, runs from 10am to midday.
