People have been urged to quiz health bosses from the crisis-hit Whipps Cross hospital.

The hospital’s interim managing director Lyn Hill-Tout and interim medical director Dr Mike Roberts will be attending an overview and scrutiny meeting of Epping Forest District Council next Tuesday (May 9), after councillors requested their presence over serious concerns.

The NHS bosses were summoned after a CQC report was published describing the quality of care at Whipps Cross as “inadequate”, with patients at risk and staff facing a culture of bullying.

The hospital, which is run by the Barts Health NHS Trust, provides a range of general inpatient, outpatient and other services to many people in the district.

The council has urged people to attend the public meeting, saying: “Residents are encouraged to attend to take the opportunity to also ask questions of the trust’s representatives about its improvement plans.”

The meeting will be held at 7.30pm in the civic offices in Epping High Street.
