An epic poem inspired by tales from residents of Waltham Forest will be performed for the first time this weekend.
The Coppermill Poets, a group based at The Mill community centre in Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow, ran workshops where residents created the foundations for the poem's plot and characters.
'The Patchwork Epic Poem of Waltham Forest' is a tale of bins, mattresses and betting shops and has been turned into a book in collaboration with illustrator Carla Cerejo.
It will be performed on Sunday (June 28) at Walthamstow Library between 2pm and 4pm, with free copies of the book supplied by Waltham Forest Libraries.
Anyone interested in joining the group can get in touch with Jo Davis at coppermillpoets@gmail.com
