A rotary club is set to offer free blood-pressure checks as part of Stroke Awareness Day.
Members of the Ongar Rotary Club are set to host the event at The Budworth Hall in High Road, Ongar, on Saturday (June 27).
Members of the public are invited to have a blood pressure check by volunteers from Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow and St John's Ambulance.
In 2014 a total of 58 people attended the event, 20 were advised to have regular checks and one man, who had been 'feeling under the weather' was referred to hospital.
Rotary Club President Bill Tillott said: ‘We hope to encourage more people this year to get checked out.
"Rotary Clubs throughout the land hold these events in an effort to get the general public to be more aware of their blood pressure.
"High blood-pressure can affect you whatever your age”.
