A Leytonstone estate agent who has battled with weight gain for decades has vowed he will shed stones for his children.

Hasan Younis, who currently weighs in at 386 pounds, is attempting a sponsored weight loss programme to raise money for children in need.

The 27-stone man who works at Century 21 Cameron Adams was joined by ‘Allo ‘Allo star Vicki Michelle, yesterday, as he began his challenge.

Hasan, 42, of Newbury Park, is raising cash for Barnardo’s by asking colleagues, family, friends, clients and members of the public to donate £1 for every 1lb he loses between now and July 31.

The father of four is observing Ramadan, in which Muslims fast from dawn till dusk, and hopes to lose as much weight as possible before the fasting month ends with the festival of Eid-al-Fitr on July 18.

His challenge will then continue until the end of the month.

Hasan is a co-director of the Century 21 branch with his brother Kamran.

Hasan and Kamran have pledged to match however much is raised for Barnardo’s in sponsorship.

Vicki, who endured three weeks of hunger and discomfort in the jungle during last year’s series of I’m a Celebrity was on hand with a few words of support for Hasan at the weigh-in.

She said: “It’s fantastic that Hasan has taken on this challenge so he can make sure he is in good shape for his own children while also raising money for Barnardo’s."
