Students are set to tackle raging white water rapids at an annual festival.
Roding Valley High School in Alderton Hill, Loughton will be joining more than 500 other participants from across the region to take part in the Lee Valley White Water Centre's schools festival.
Secondary schools from every borough in Hertfordshire, Essex and London will be rafting the rapids for free on July 8.
The event takes place ahead of the 2015 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, when some of the world's best paddlers tackle the same white water course at the London 2012 venue in Waltham Abbey.
Leading British canoeing athletes will also be on hand to offer advice and support to the students.
