A white water centre is set to host an aquatic-themed fun day next month.

Lee Valley White Water Centre in Station Road, Waltham Abbey, will host the family fun day, which will include and array of activities as well as a barbeque, a licensed bar and live music, on July 19.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to try out the raging rapids, rafting, hydrospeeding, hot dog sessions, canoeing and challenge the inflatable water wipeout obstacle course.

A 100ft inflatable obstacle course on land, bouncy castles, garden games, disc golf, face painting and an Olympic themed treasure hunt will also be in place.

Calum Ferris-Lay, Lee Valley White Water Centre Assistant Manager said: “There’s something for everyone at this fun day which we’re holding at the very height of summer.

“Rather than head to the crowded seaside visitors can soak up the atmosphere by venturing onto the white water rapids, racing over the water wipeout course or cooling down in a canoe on the lake. All equipment is provided for the activities so it’s a terrific opportunity to try something new.

“There will be lots of fun activities to enjoy on dry land as well as the chance to relax with drinks and a BBQ on our wooden terrace overlooking the white water action.”

Admission to the event, which will run between 11am and 4pm, is free.
