A pupil has gone the extra mile by cutting off her hair and smashing her fundraising target for a childrens wig charity.

Jessica Elliot, 14, of Pentney Road, Chingford, decided she wanted to raise awareness of the Little Princess Trust so researched the charity and sent off from an information pack.

The Chingford Foundation School pupil then set off to raise £75 as she wanted to give the charity money towards creating the wigs as well as donating her own hair.

After having eight inches chopped off at Kings hairdressers in Kings Road, Chingford, on June 20, the Nevin Drive pupil has raised more than £600.
