Registrations for the sixth Art Trail Wanstead will close next month, organisers have announced.

This year's trail, with the theme We are the Environment, will take place from September 5 to 20.

Amateur and professional artists need to pay the entry fee, agree a venue and submit details for the trail brochure by July 31.

Participants must be members of Art Group Wanstead to take part.

Last year, more than 75 venues and 150 artists took part in the community event.

As part of the event, residents are also invited to take part in Homefront, a competition in which front gardens and windows are turned into creative spaces.

Last year's event saw a sandbag installation in Redbridge Lane West commemorate the Great War with the letters OTT (Over The Top).

Trail founder Donna Mizzi said: "We are interested in seeing work from artists across Redbridge that specifically ties in with this theme.

"Artists have so many different ways of bringing home this environmental message – from the materials they use to the images they create.

"We don't want to exclude an artist who can add to the message."
