As part of Leytonstone Festival 2015, sustainablilty experts are opening the doors to their Grade II listed Georgian home and headquarters for a special tour.

Built in 1735 in Aylmer Road, Leytonstone, Carlton House was originally part of a terrace of three houses, it is now listed for its’ historic architectural features and range of original interior fittings.

Since moving into the property 20 years ago, Dee Wood, managing director of ItDoesTheJob.com, a business aiming to help reduce emissions and energy bills, have used it as a showcase for sustainable living.

Miss Wood has installed solar roof panels, a weather vane, rainwater harvesting and filtration system, composting, LED lighting, bamboo flooring, and a wood burning stove into the property.

The free tour begins on Friday (July 3) at 10.30am to book click here.
