With less than two weeks to register, women in Epping Forest are being urged to enter the upcoming Race for Life.

Entry for the Cancer Research event at North Weald Airfield closes two days before the run on July 15.

In 2014, the women’s only event raised £88,589 and organisers are hoping to hit a target of £105,000 this year.

Participants in the “pink army” can run, walk or jog 5km or 10km at the event.

Organiser Gill Burgess said: “We are absolutely thrilled that so many women have entered Race for Life events in Epping.

“But we still have places left so we are urging women to sign up as soon as possible.

“Race for Life is not competitive and it is not about being fit or fast.”
