Little fundraisers have collected cash for charities through events at their school.

Children attending Walthamstow Montessori School have taken part in two events in two weeks, this month.

Earlier this month the children dressed up as mini pirates, taking part in the ‘Big Toddle’ at Lloyd Park

WMS families joined in the walk and together raised nearly £800 for Barnardos.

Lorna Mahoney, Principal said: “We love supporting this important charity and have been holding this event for many years now.

“We are very lucky to have such a fantastic park on our school’s doorstep and very supportive parents.”

Last Friday, the school held its 15th annual sports day at George White Playing Fields.

Parents also took part in a number of races to finish the fun before Pudsey Bear turned up for pictures with the children.

Donations were made for the pictures and the school raised £135 for Children in Need.

Walthamstow Montessori School opened in April 2001 and is an independent school for boys and girls aged between two and 11.
