A ladies golfing group have raised £22,000 towards a minibus for a respite care charity.

The Abridge Ladies Golfing Group hosted the golf day at the Abridge Golf Club in Epping Lane, Stapleford Tawney, on Tuesday (June 30).

Around 160 people attended the event, which saw residents enjoy a round of golf followed by a gourmet buffet lunch and a grand prize draw, including Alan Sugar's wife, Lady Sugar.

After the tournament, in which a hole in one would have won a brand new Lexus car, the ladies unveiled their fundraising total and presented a cheque to special guest, Revitalise Trustee Linda Beaney.

The proceeds from the Golf Day went to Revitalise, which runs the Jubilee Lodge respite holiday centre for disabled people and carers in Grange Farm Lane, Chigwell.

Revitalise Trustee Linda Beaney said: "Thank you to Abridge Golf Club who have been beyond incredible.

"Support from this community and others like them is absolutely invaluable for us.

"All of the funds raised from the event will enable us to purchase an essential, fully accessible minibus for Jubilee Lodge, to help give our disabled guests a truly memorable holiday experience."
