A youth councillor has been awarded for 'making a difference'.
Jaymey McIvor, 17, of Epping Forest District Youth Council, won the Making a Difference Award as part of the British Youth Councils 2015 Youth on Board Awards (YOB) on Monday (June 29).
Jaymey, who is in his forth year as an elected Youth Councillor for the Epping Forest Youth Council, won the award for being an inspiration to the community and his peers.
He is also an elected member of the Young Essex Assembly and a member of the UK Youth Parliament.
Councillor Helen Kane Leisure and Community Services Portfolio Holder said: “Jaymey is a lovely young man who is passionate about giving our young people a voice.
"He is a great example of the fantastic work our Youth Council do and he thoroughly deserves this award.”
