Students have won a prize after dazzling West End producers with a succesful marketing pitch for the musical production, 'The Woman in Black'.
Agnes Beadford, Colleen Napier and Liliane Yahiaoui from Leyton Sixth Form College presented their ideas to successful producers Kevin Wallace and Kenny Wax in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style format.
The Stage Business 2015 competition focused on the business side of performing arts, giving students access to industry experts from marketing agencies who taught them about budgeting, finance, marketing and displays.
Principal Kevin Watson said the creative and business skills shown by the students was a winning combination.
He said: “I spend many a happy hour watching our performing arts students acting, dancing and singing on stage – invariably to a high standard.
"This, however, is a new departure and I’m delighted to see that creative talents are clearly flourishing alongside more practical, business - related ones. That is a pretty winning combination.”
