A community festival to celebrate the power of dance will be held in venues across Walthamstow.

‘Dance All Over E17’ will see a variety of professional and community performers take to the stage in the Town Square, Vestry House museum in Vestry Road, the William Morris pub in Forest Road and Gnome House in Blackhorse Lane on 25 July.

On the Sunday (July 26) the dancers will perform in the Wood Street fountain area as well as returning to the Town Square.

People are invited to wander around Walthamstow as audience members, participants and as dancers in the Waltham Forest council funded festival.

Ajos Dance aims to help marginalised communities both in Britain and in the Philippines, through dance and music and is organised by volunteers.

JJ Formento, founder of Ajos Dance, said: "We hope this dance festival will raise the profile of dance and develop audiences for dance within Waltham Forest.

"We wish to grow as a local organisation that can form strong and on-going partnerships with other organisations in the boroughs, so as to create community cohesion, provide work opportunities for local artists and contribute to the local economy."
