A leisure centre quiz evening helped raise money for two “fantastic” charities last week.
Loughton Leisure Centre held its quiz and raffle last Friday (July 17), with £1,125 raised for SANDS, a stillborn and neonatal death charity that supports bereaved parents and families.
With a variety of gifts and prizes donated, £200 was also raised for the Anthony Nolan Trust, a blood cancer charity for people in need of stem cell or bone marrow transplants.
SANDS was selected for donation as the charity has recently supported a member of staff at the leisure centre.
Acting manager at the leisure centre, David Grant, said: “This fundraising event has been a great opportunity for us to show our support to our colleague and raise some money for two fantastic charities.
“We hope people continue to donate generously and that we can support the charities with more events like this on in the future.”
