A 26 mile cycling tour of Epping Forest will give people the chance to learn about the forest’s rich history this weekend.

The ‘Tour de Epping Forest’ will follow an extensive route through the forest this Sunday (August 9), starting at the Kings Oak Hotel in High Beach before travelling north for a brief tour of Copped Hall and its grounds.

The cycle, which is open to people aged 10 and over, will then explore the forest outside Epping and the famous Amesbury Banks, an Iron Age fort associated with legendary leader Boudicca, before heading to the Chingford Plain for lunch and views of London from Pole Hill.

Children must be accompanied by adults, and bikes are not provided.

To book tickets, phone Epping Forest District Council on 01992 564 226 or phone 01992 564 567 to rent a bike.
