Students are celebrating completing a personal development course run by The Prince’s Trust.

The 12-week course encouraged students from Waltham Forest College in Forest Road to gain work experience, practical skills, and to get involved in community projects.

Students gave the garden at All Saints Church of England in Highams Park a makeover as part of their community project after raising over £100 in a car wash for garden materials and shovels.

The group also took elderly residents from Forest Dean Care Home on a day out to Fairlop Waters Country Park.

On their residential week, the students enjoyed archery, an aerial assault course and a pizza-making competition.

College student Rhiana Fevrier, 18, was delighted to receive her certificate saying: “I’ve gained loads of life skills which will help me in my future career.”

Zawdie Mascoll, assistant team leader, who worked with students on the scheme said: “To see how the students have progressed from when they first started the programme to its conclusion is amazing.”
