A cricket club are set to host a family fun day in a bid to raise much-needed funds for two charities.

The Theydon Bois Cricket Club in Loughton Lane, Theydon Bois, are set to host the event, which will allow residents to take part in games of cricket, in hopes of raising money for CLIC Sargent and the Borradaile Trust Frail Care Unit in Marondera, Zimbabwe.

Spectators can enjoy light refreshments or bring along their own picnic to watch the games.

Organiser of the event Alan Readings said "We are raising funds for two charities, the first being Borradaile Trust which is a home in a small town in Zimbabwe in memory of the late Reverend Lionel Borradaile Bell.

"Our second charity which we would like to support is CLIC Sargent.

"We look forward to seeing all you generous people on this holiday weekend."
