A community “litter pick” event will aim to tackle the scourge of discarded rubbish this weekend.
Members of the public have been invited to join the Buckhurst Hill Litter Pick, which will run from 10am to midday this Saturday (August 15).
The event, which has been organised by Green councillor Steven Neville for Buckhurst Hill Parish Council, will start outside the Underground station.
Equipment will be provided by the council.
Cllr. Neville said: “There are parts of Buckhurst Hill that get missed by conventional litter clearances, and areas that are particularly bad.
“The fact that we can fill up to 15 bags in two hours tells me that this is needed.
“It also gets the community working together for the community.”
