Talented young athletes in Epping Forest have been invited to apply for a new grant which could help them flourish in their chosen sport.
Applications for the Active Epping Forest Young Sports Award are open until November 30, with a potential £1,000 available to people aged 13 to 25.
The district council grant, which is open to competitors at a county, regional or national level in a recognised sport, aims to help young people develop their talents further.
Councillor Helen Kane, portfolio holder for leisure and community services, said: “Our sports award recognises the hard work, dedication and commitment needed to play sports at the highest level.
“This is a fantastic way to celebrate the amazing achievements of our young people and help them excel in their chosen sport.”
All applicants must live in Epping Forest or have a family home in the district.
