People are being invited to discover more about the history of Walthamstow’s “hidden” church in a series of events.
St Peter’s-in-the-Forest Church in Woodford New Road is considered Walthamstow's least-known place of worship, hidden in a strip of Epping Forest, yet reachable by bus cycle or on foot.
Visitors to the church can learn about the history of the building during the last 175 years, including its links to one of Walthamstow's biggest former landowners, the Warner family.
Depending on the weather, people can relax in the tranquillity of the churchyard, or take shelter inside.
The free events will take place every Sunday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm in August and September.
Donations are requested for refreshments.
