Doctors have invited people to have their say on plans to invest in and improve care for people affected by strokes.
The plans from the NHS West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which covers Epping Forest, aim to increase chances of survival for stroke patients and improve chances of recovery with minimal long-term disability.
A consultation document with detailed plans is now available for local people, with the opportunity to give feedback until October 20.
The proposals focus on the first 72 hours of care for stroke patients, and plans for additional investment at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.
Dr. Angus Henderson said: “We are very excited about the potential for improving stroke care for local people.
“If we commission urgent care services from specialised units, local people will get the best possible care at the right time which has huge benefits in terms of minimising the impact of stroke.
“Our consultation document explains why we need to improve stroke care and asks for views on proposed changes and how they may affect you, your family, friends, or someone you care for, in future.”
