Inter-school talent competition brought out old values
I WOULD like to thank the staff at Debden Park, Roding Valley and West Hatch schools for working so hard to make the Loughton Festival inter-school's talent competition such a great success.
The standard of the entrants was extremely high, and that made judging the competition so difficult.
The schools also provided two performance pieces relating to Loughton Festival talks at Loughton Methodist Church.

This is the second year the Loughton Festival has worked with schools to organise the talent competition.
The judges, Tre Azam, Imogen Gray and PC Rob Vacca, all felt it was a privilege to be allowed into the schools to see for themselves just how talented our youngsters are.
What impressed us all was the way that the children in the audience supported every one of the contestants, irrespective of the school they represented.
It was clear they felt that the most important part of the event was the taking part, not the winning.
Yes, those old values are still with us and I was delighted to see them in action again this year.
We really should be very proud of our young people here in Loughton and Chigwell - the Loughton Festival organisers certainly are and we look forward to working with the schools again next year.
