This is a great school where pupils are safe, happy and well educated
I AM writing to you with reference to an article published in your newspaper entitled Give us more school spaces, plead parents' (Guardian, May 8 edition).
I am actually quite appaled at the way this whole article was portrayed. There was a photograph of some schoolchildren looking extremely down in the mouth and visibly upset with a caption underneath saying: "Children unhappy over not being allowed into their local school but have to go to Limes Farm Infants School, in Chigwell instead."
This, I feel, was entirely misleading as the children looked as though they were about to be sent to bed without any supper after having their favourite toy taken away.

It was a misleading sentence and would lead any reader to believe that Limes Farm Infants School was some kind of House of Horror, rather than the friendly, successful school that it is.
You implied that for children to attend Limes Farm Infants School was the worst scenario any parent could ever face.
While this could be deemed by some to be quite amusing, I found it really insulting.
My son has attended this school for three years - nursery through to Year 2 - and has done brilliantly.
He excels in English and has been encouraged by every one of his excellent teachers.
I am also on the governing body as a parent governor and have first-hand knowledge of how much time care, and attention is put into every child, indeed the school vision is:
"In our school we like to feel happy and safe. We enjoy working hard and learning together. We care for and respect each other. We know that we are all different and have our own special gifts and talents."
I would like it to be known, please, that Limes Farm Infants School has received very good Ofsted reports, has a healthy and happy attitude towards school life and has had no incidents of bullying.
My son has had an extremely happy time there and I will be sorry he has to leave. So while I accept you have to write reports on local matters, I would appreciate a fair representation of what I consider to be an excellent school.
Perhaps your reporter might consider a visit to Limes Farm School so he/she may see how lovely an environment for children it really is.
