Getting the hump over this traffic-calming proposal

WHY is the council installing speed humps in Windsor Road, Leyton ? The only thing it does is cause a nuisance to residents.

All day and night there are the loud bumps as cars, vans and lorries go over them, like the ones in Oliver road.

Sometimes the bangs are so loud you think there has been a smash-up.

Traffic calming? What about resident calming?

There is an elderly lady living next to one. She told me it's driving her round the bend.

Why are there yellow lines along Oliver Road? Answer: to stop vehicles parking causing an obstruction.

So what is the idea of those islands causing traffic hold-ups. They are just as much and obstruction as a lorry parked there.

CG Elvin, Leyton.
