A UNITY of faiths festival is aiming to unite communities from across the borough.

The Barnet Multi Faith Forum (BMFF) team is launching a Unity of Faiths Festival in Hendon’s Allianz Park, on Wednesday September 7.

The BMFF aims to build bridges of trust and confidence based on greater understanding and knowledge of each other’s faiths, beliefs & customs.

A celebratory football tournament will see youth teams from Jewish, mixed Muslim and Christian backgrounds, compete against each other, to become the event’s number one team.

The London based multicultural football project, TUFF FC, which has recently welcomed his Holiness Pope Francis as a patron, will field both the boys and girls football games.

Barnet’s Mayor Cllr David Longstaff will welcome guests at the 100 club from 6.16pm.

Football fans will have the chance to meet the Saracens’ young footballers and take a look at the team’s silverware from last season.

An auction will also take place, where people can bid for a signed Diego Maradona shirt and a Saracens Champion Team shirt.
