ONE of Barnet’s oldest shops will mark 150 years of selling shoes and is inviting the neighbourhood to celebrate with them.

Peter Wanders has owned Wanders in High Street Barnet, for 30 years but has been selling shoes since the 19th century.

The shop was called Yarrow from 1860 – the late 1940’s before it was renamed Berry’s.

Mr Wanders took over ownership in 1985, and on Saturday September 17, he will mark exactly 30 years of trading.

Owner Peter Wander said: “Please come and celebrate with us on the day, this place is one of Barnet's best kept secrets.

"We're hoping to raise lots of money for local Barnet charities so do buy a raffle ticket for only £1 and you get the chance to win some fabulous prizes listed below.”
