A prisoner serving a sentence for robberies has added five years to his sentence for owning a stun gun.

Lewis Sokhi, 23, was sentenced to five years' imprisonment on September 19, at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

He was already serving four years and four months for conspiring to rob cash-in-transit vans between February and June 2014.

Officers from the Met's Flying Squad found Sokhi at an address in Golders Green on February 1.

He had been hiding whilst on the run from police in connection with a linked series of robberies across London and the Home Counties.

Police found a number of knives and a stun gun disguised as a phone in his room.

Sokhi is one of eight men who were jailed at the Old Bailey on March 14, for conspiring to rob cash-in-transit vans between February and June 2014.

This five-year sentence will run consecutively to his previous sentence.

Detective Constable David Reed of the Met Flying Squad said: "We are committed to protecting the public from firearms.

"The techniques used to disguise these items are becoming more sophisticated.

"This sentencing should act as a deterrent to anyone who is considering possessing or using such an item."
