A group of friends are putting their best foot forward to fight cancer.

The Sparklets committee have been supporting charities for a decade and are celebrating their 10th anniversary with a fashion show.

The Battle of the Stylists will be presented by Sky Sports News presenter on Thursday, May 18 at Twenty at N20, High Road, Whetstone.

Fashion experts will battle it out on the catwalk to showcase their most stylish looks.

So far he girls have raised more than £60,000 for good causes, and this year will be donating funds to Cancer Research UK’s Kids & Teen Cancer UK project in Hertfordshire.

Half of the friends met at Watford Grammar School for Girls, and the group has evolved with time as some founding members have stepped back to focus on their families.

The group is made up of Danielle Plesner, Elisa Fosterman, Nicola Myers, Shani Sher, Stacey Krett, Sophie Young, Sara Behar, Natalie Thwaites, Annabel Hartley, Abby Miller and Katy Cresner who started the group in 2006.

Acting chairman Danielle Plesner, who grew up in Elstree, said: “We are so excited to get together for this event. It’s great to be marking our ten year anniversary of fundraising and community spirit, with such pizazz.

“We have all grown up together doing this, going through university and starting in our careers to raising families, it’s been so lovely to have this focus that connects us.

“As some of us have children, we thought the work that Cancer Research UK do for kids is so important and we are so happy to be supporting them in any way we can.”

The group were formed as an offshoot of Sparkles, who also channel their efforts towards charitable functions in Hertfordshire and have so far raised £293,575 to date.

Tickets for the event are £30 and include canapes and cocktails. Raffle tickets will also be on sale at the event offering lucky attendees a chance to win prizes donated to the cause.
