A rugby club has received the council's highest honour.
Hendon-based Saracens RFC received the honorary freedom of the London Borough of Barnet after council members voted in favour at an extraordinary council meeting on Tuesday.
The award was presented the club in recognition of their sporting success as well as their community contribution in bringing Allianz Park, formerly Copthall Stadium, into the community.
Leader of Barnet Council Cllr Richard Cornelius said: "Since moving here, Saracens have not only brought use back to Copthall Stadium, but they have made themselves part of our community.
"In addition to bringing international fans and coverage to our borough, Saracens continually support community events and the Mayor's charities, showing a real willingness to help and improve the area they are based in.
"The generous way in which they have contributed is an example for all organisations, and the London Borough of Barnet celebrates their part in the continuing success of our borough."
The club's chairman, Nigel Wray, thanked the council for the award, saying that they are "incredibly proud" to be its recipients.
