Youth club campaign would be more worthy

IT would seem that Theydon Bois Action Group have taken exception to the open letters that appeared last week from Theydon Bois residents.

They have sought the full addresses of both authors and even responded both by letter and knocking on their door. But this does nothing to dismay the comment regarding them being a vigilante group.

TBAG seem to believe it is their way, or no way.

Last year by way of an e-mail that was sent to the residents of Theydon Bois, TBAG stated that agreeing to the golf course would mean we would have raves going on at the bottom of our garden and cars spilling out of the clubhouse until all hours of the night.

They also stated it would mean lorries continually driving through our village and urged residents to register our objections to the plans.

I responded, by village-mail, asking that residents go and view the plans themselves and make their own minds up as the TBAG e-mail exaggerated many points.

I personally, as a resident of Forest Drive, would rather like a golf course, my main concern was for the safety of our children.

This led to several e-mails from TBAG accusing me of not knowing my own mind among other things.

TBAG seem to now have changed their minds and are now claiming they were always in support of the golf course plans, it was only the soil dumping that they were against.

I supported TBAG fully when the dumping of soil at Blunts Farm was causing a smell and attracting seagulls, but they seem to change their minds about their views. Why aren’t they putting the time to good use on worthy causes like the re-opening of the youth club?

T. Buisson, Forest Drive, Theydon Bois.
