RESIDENTS of Theydon Bois, who are not on the Theydon Bois Action Group e-mailing list, may have thought that the village had escaped from the potential threat of having gypsies and travellers located in their village.
Unfortunately they are mistaken.
Theydon Bois has been earmarked for two sites, one at the junction of Abridge Road and Coopersale Lane, and the other almost opposite in Coopersale Lane.
This would be a total of 21 pitches and a pitch could hold one or two larger mobile homes and several tourers – as well as working vehicles.
Both of these sites are Metropolitan Green Belt but unfortunately the consultation document says: “areas in and around Epping and to the east of Theydon Bois score well”, giving them greater chance of selection.
Residents who wish to be kept informed of developments via email can contact theydon_bois_ action_group@yahoo.co.uk to be added to our e-mail list.
