Waltham Forest Ladies steered their league campaign back on track with a morale-boosting 2-1 away victory against Canterbury Threes.
Forest started strongly, with Hannah Dobbin coming close in the early minutes only to be thwarted by the onrushing keeper.
At the other end, player of the match Ali Griffiths had an impressive showing at right-back, coupled with Jenny Whibley and Nicky Van Gremberghe to keep Canterbury at bay.
Just before half-time, the hosts were let off the hook when the Canterbury forward drove into the area and hit a low shot that cannoned off the post.
With the scores level at half-time, Forest upped their game and started to control the match, with Mandy Briggs an imposing figure in the middle.
Canterbury though, scored against the run of play when a quick corner was fired across from the right and the ball was deflected home with 15 minutes to play.
Forest replied instantly as an impressive team move ended with Susie Hunt squaring for captain Katherine Abbie to finish at the back post to make it 1-1.
The home side had their tails up and when Susie Hunt gained a short corner, Liz Evans stepped up and fired an unstoppable shot low into the bottom right corner to grab the winner.
The victory sees Forest jump above Canterbury into sixth in the table.
