East London Runners stood out once again in the Wanstead Flats 5km with four competitors finishing in the top ten.
Thomas Grimes (18.33) was first, while third, sixth and tenth places went to club-mates Mark Boulton (19.31), Gavin Stebbing (20.09) and Derek Wright (21.09) respectively.
Russell Price (13th, 21.50) and Regis Martin (14th, 22.04) challenged at the front, while Lee Wollaston (23rd), Frank Brownlie (28th), Fiona Day (30th, with a course personal best) and Don Bennett (40th) competed respectably in the 52-runner field in tough conditions.
The running club produced another winner at the Beckton 5km last Saturday as Mohammed Aklaqul-Ambea (20.25) raced to victory.
Tim Le Rasle (19.34) recorded a course personal best on his way to third place in the Valentine Park 5km, while Mary O’Brien (25th) was in the top quarter of runners out of a field of 105.
Allan Todd’s (19.18) personal best run earned him fourth position in the Woodley Park 5km, Phoebe Bowman (17th) achieved a third course personal best in the Walthamstow 5km, while Ninette Fernandes (25th) embarked on her first park run in the Hackney Marshes 5km.
Todd (311th) made it a duo of personal bests when he ran the Wokingham Half Marathon a day after his Woodley Park effort last Saturday and performed above average in a field of 1,927 participants.
There were three East London Runners competing in the Great Bentley Half Marathon, with Peter Hatley (110th) and Sarah Burns (393rd) completing personal bests, while Simon Morgan (112th) was a strong competitor out of the 605 people who finished.
