Third XI Premier Division

Wanstead & Snaresbrook Thirds kept up the pressure at the top with a 81-run win over bottom-placed Shenfield Thirds.

Wanstead’s Feroze Khushi was the star of the show with an unbeaten 126, while Inquiyad Chowdhury was also in good form, carrying his bat for 63.

The hosts’ total of 245 was too much for Shenfield, who were dismissed for 164.

Mohammed Shahriyar (27 for four) and Chowdhury (four for 18) were the pick of Wanstead’s bowlers.

Wanstead Thirds are away to Woodford Wells Thirds on Saturday.

South Woodford Thirds suffered a 30-run defeat to unbeaten table-toppers Ilford Thirds, despite an impressive century from Jamie Carroll.

Bowling first, Woodford’s Adam Overton took four for 74 but was unable to prevent Ilford finishing on 226 for six.

In reply, Carroll’s 113 was ably supported by Fahad Khan’s 37 but the rest of the order struggled as Woodford were bowled out for 196.

South Woodford Thirds travel to bottom-of-the-table Shenfield Thirds on Saturday.

Woodford Wells Thirds moved up to sixth with a narrow victory over struggling Hutton Thirds.

Hutton were dismissed for 189 as Brian Schofield took four wickets and Wells surpassed that total with two wickets to spare. Opener Iain Wilson top-scored with 72.

Fives & Heronians Thirds played out a draw against Upminster Thirds, with Glenn Jackson hitting an excellent century.

Jackson’s 127 as well as 80 from opener Shahrukh Irfan helped Fives declare on 253 for five.

As the match drew to a close all results seemed possible but Upminster finished on 233 for nine and the spoils were shared. Fives’ Raheel Haider took five for 56.

Third XI Division One

Buckhurst Hill Thirds thrashed Chelmsford Fourths by nine wickets to move four points clear at the top of the table.

Chelmsford were dismissed for 142, which was made to look measly as Buckhurst’s Shaid Mohammed (98 not out) and Aniket Patel (39) saw the Thirds home.

Buckhurst Hill Thirds are away to Gidea Park & Romsford Thirds on Saturday.

Chingford Thirds lost to Brentwood Thirds by two wickets.

Daniel Carver hit 52 and was well supported by Martin Steel (44) and Paul Canham (41) as Chingford were bowled out for 183.

Brentwood however, passed that total with two wickets in hand despite Chingford’s Usman Younas taking four for 28.

Chingford Thirds are away to Wanstead & Snaresbrook Fourths on Saturday.

Wanstead & Snaresbrook Fourths are second in the table after beating Harold Wood Thirds by 62 runs.

Danny Mead top-scored for the Herons with 47 as the visitors posted 141.

But the star of the show was bowler Mehad Khan who took six for 37 as Wood were skittled for 79.

Wanstead Fourths play Chingford Thirds on Saturday.

Third XI Division Two

Loughton Thirds beat Harlow Thirds by 32 runs as Mark Nicol played a major part, scoring 71.

Nicol helped Loughton post a total of 180, which was too strong for Harlow, who were bowled out for 148. Loughton’s Rishi Patel took three for 23.

On Saturday, Loughton Thirds play Colchester and East Essex Thirds away.

West Essex Thirds are third in the table after beating Orsett Thirds by nine wickets.

Orsett decided to bat first but struggled to 143 all out. Pravin Perera took three for four for West Essex.

In reply, Perera (60 not out) and Zain Saleem (72 not out) ensured West Essex cruised home with maximum points.

West Essex Thirds face Billericay Thirds on Saturday.

Third XI Division Three

South Woodford Fourths are three positions off the top after they recorded a four-wicket win away to Benfleet Thirds.

Benfleet batted first and set a target of 146, which the visitors reached with four wickets to spare. Shravan Sheth top-scored with 44.

South Woodford Fourths are away on Saturday to second-placed Wickford Thirds.

Loughton Fourths beat lowly Harlow Town Thirds by eight wickets.

Harlow were put into bat and scored a modest 109 as Peter Williams took three for 29.

In reply, Loughton reached the required total as Riki Laird and Hammad Mali hit an unbeaten 48 and 35 respectively.

Loughton Fourths are at home to bottom-placed Leigh on Sea Thirds on Saturday.
